Fran Ross, born on February 17, 1939, in Vicksburg, Mississippi, was a beacon of light to all who knew her. She left us peacefully on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Devoted to her faith, Fran found joy and purpose as an active member of the Concord United Methodist Church, where she brought smiles to many faces with the Golden Hearts Club and Hugs group. She possessed a playful spirit and an engaging mind, often delighting in the challenge of games and the careful assembly of jigsaw puzzles. Fran's love for these simple pleasures was only matched by the love and laughter she shared so generously with her community. Fran’s warm presence will be profoundly missed, though her memory will continue to inspire and comfort us, just as she cherished the completed picture of a jigsaw puzzle.

Fran is survived by her daughter Wendy Bufford, and her husband John of Paducah, and their twin children, Jared and Blake Turner, and Hannah, Paul, and Jordan Bufford; a son, Mark Colvin, and his wife Kim of Lexington and their children, Will, Ryder, and Josie Mattmiller; great-grandchildren, Kace, Coraline, Mia, Zoey, and Jonas; three sisters, Joan Leese of Mississippi, Jean Hood of Louisiana, and Linda Sue Cook of Tennessee; a stepson, grandchildren, and in-laws of the Ross family; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her Parakeet Sweetpea.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Conrad Lee Colvin; her second husband, Jessie D. Ross, Sr.; a son, Jeff Colvin; her parents, Norvis and Olive Crawford Barland; and her beloved Poodle, Allie.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Dr. Ben Boone and Barbara Blackmon-Fortune officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the service hour of 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Expressions of Sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to Concord United Methodist Church, 5178 Hinkleville Rd, Paducah, KY 42001 or Project Hope Humane Society, 1698 W 10th St, Metropolis, IL 62960.
