Esther Marie Thompson

Esther Marie Thompson passed away on September 25, 2024 at Baptist Health Paducah. Born in Paducah, Kentucky, on January 24, 1931, Marie's vivacious spirit and zest for life left a radiant mark on all who knew her.

Educated at the University of Louisville, Marie dedicated a generous portion of her life to teaching and shaping young minds as a beloved educator, while also serving her community as a skilled dental technician at the Louisville vocational school. Marie's involvement with Rosebower Baptist Church reflected her commitment to faith and fellowship.

Her independence shown through every endeavor, and her love for Christmas was radiant and infectious. Known for her tasteful style and eternal youthfulness, Marie approached life with unrelenting positivity and joy. She will be remembered as a light in the lives of many, whose legacy of love and education will undoubtedly endure.
 
Marie is survived by nieces and nephews, Fran Sherrill, Charles Crowell, Linda Cain, Terry Crowell, Vicki Hamm, Donna Galloway, Jeff Thompson and Tim Thompson.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Gleaner Thompson; two sisters, Lalah Mae Kaler and Pauline Hall; three brothers, Lexie Thompson, Luke Thompson and Tommy Thompson; and one niece, Gail Gabbert.
 
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Clarks River Cemetery with Bro. Kenneth Puckett officiating.  
 
There will be no public visitation.
