Edgar Hembree, age 77, of Kevil, Kentucky, was born in Pineville, Kentucky on Saturday, February 10, 1945 and entered into Glory on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.

Edgar Hembree finished his race and entered into the arms of his Savior 11:48 a.m. on November 15, 2022. He went home to Jesus surrounded by his loving, devoted family. Edgar was a devoted Christian, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a masters graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. He was a Kentucky Colonel, and President of the Kentucky Society of Hospital Engineers Association for many years. He served as the Chief Engineer at Western Baptist Hospital for nearly 28 years. He was the director of Biomed, Engineering, Security, Maintenance and Housekeeping. He was a loyal and dedicated employee, who went out of his way to love his co-workers and staff. He would often visit patients in the hospital, listening to them. Often, he would deliver a beautiful glass bluebird to each patient. His generous heart was due to his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which he lived out daily. He was a faithful member of the Church of God (Cleveland) and taught Sunday School for over 30 years. He was a humble man who understood the importance of God, family and country. He was a veteran serving in the Vietnam War, as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force. He served in the Vietnam Bomb Squad. He was a jet engine mechanic for 13 years. He was a master carpenter and craftsman who loved to make furniture, cabinets and restore old things. He regularly blessed his family and friends through his cheerful giving. He was also a professional beekeeper.

He married the love of his life, Pauline (Ballard) Hembree, to whom he was married for 51 years. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Linda (Hembree) Lange of Kevil, KY and Cecilia (Hembree) Beggs of Kevil, KY. He was the loving and proud grandpa to three grandchildren, Caleigh, Sadie, and Gabriel. He was very proud of his two son-in-laws, who he loved like his own sons, Jimmy Lange and Rev. Jeremy Beggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elbert and Sadie Hembree, (Harlan, KY), his brothers, Arnold Hembree, Roy Hembree, and sisters, Alta Griggs, and Faye Hembree. Edgar is survived by his devoted wife, Pauline (Ballard) Hembree, his two loving daughters, Linda (Hembree) Lange and Jimmy of Kevil, and Cecilia (Hembree) Beggs and Rev.Jeremy of Kevil, KY and his grandchildren, and his mother-in-law Jewell (Russell) Ballard of Richmond, KY.
 
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 21, 2022 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jeremy Beggs officiating. Burial with military funeral honors, will follow at La Center Cemetery in Ballard County.
 
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Monday November 21, 2022 at the funeral home.
