Dwight Timothy Caughlin, of Bardwell, Kentucky, affectionately known as Timmy or Cannonball by those who loved him, passed away at home on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the age of 61. He was born in Clinton, Kentucky on Tuesday, April 7, 1964, to Donald and Maggie Caughlin.
Timmy was known for his warm heart and his exceptional sense of humor. His presence was a source of joy and comfort to all who knew him. He was a former member of Labor Union #1214, and embraced the values of hard work and solidarity.
Timmy also devoted much of his time to the Bardwell Volunteer Fire Department, bravely serving his community and showing a steadfast commitment to its safety and well-being. His courage and selflessness in this role spoke volumes about his character and the immense love he had for his hometown.
An avid fisherman, Timmy found solace and delight in the quiet moments by the river. His love for fishing was only exceeded by the love he had for his family and grandchildren.
Funny, genuine, and kind-hearted, Timmy will be remembered not just for the laughter he shared but for his unwavering spirit and the positive impact he had on those around him. He lived a life of service, love, and joy and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy will continue to live on through his friends, family, and all of the lives he touched.
Timmy is survived by his wife Sarah Caughlin (Bruer) , One sister Deborah (Donald) St.Arbor of Arlington, Daughters Tracy (Odell) Dix of Bardwell, Kentucky, Amber (Joseph) Cromey of Clinton, Kentucky, and one son Dustin (Payton) Caughlin of Bardwell, Kentucky. 10 grandchildren Bailey Langford, Amber Dix, Michael Dix, Bradley Dix, Alexis Dix, Kaylee Dix, Delilah Cromey, Violet Cromey, Ty Cromey, Mason Caughlin. 8 great-grandchildren.
Timmy was proceeded in death by his parents Donald and Maggie Caughlin, one sister Kay Burgess, and one brother Billy Caughlin
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Rev. Gaylon Bruer officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the funeral home.
