Doyl Edward "Ed" Pflueger, aged 78, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. He was born on June 12, 1946, in Logansport, IN, to the late Doyl and Mary Pflueger. Ed grew up to live a life marked by service, dedication, and passion.
After bravely serving in the Vietnam War, Ed continued his life of service at home as a proud US Navy veteran. He later embarked on a distinguished career in the railroad industry, where he retired as the Assistant Vice President of Communications with P&L Railway. His work was not just a job but a testament to his commitment to excellence and community betterment.
Ed was a man of many interests and his voice was a familiar one in the world of amateur radio, a hobby that allowed him to connect with people from all walks of life. His faith was important to him, and he was a member of the 12 Oaks Baptist Church. A lover of Mustang cars, Ed was also a member of the Mustang Club, sharing his enthusiasm and knowledge with fellow aficionados.
Ed is survived by his wife of 30 years, Laura Pflueger of Paducah; a daughter, Kerrie Pflueger (Jonathan) Fiser of Paducah; a son, Doug Pflueger of Nashville, TN and a granddaughter, Kalyn Fiser. He is also survived by several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home Lone Oak Chapel with Rev. Boogie Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home Lone Oak Chapel.
