Dorothy L. Puckett, age 86, of West Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 6:30 am, Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.
Dorothy was born on January 4, 1938, to the late Leonard Riley and Bertie Waters Riley. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Lovelaceville Baptist Church. She was retired from the McCracken County Board of Education where she worked in the Lone Oak Elementary School cafeteria for 18 years. Dorothy enjoyed family and having them around and her trips to Florida were special to her.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila (Art) Sauerwin, West Paducah; two sons, Frankie (Sandy) Puckett, West Paducah, and Danny Puckett, Barlow, KY; one sister, Shirley Mitts, (William) West Paducah; six grandchildren, Matt (Sheri) Kissiar, Elizabeth Seay, Sarah (Zach) Trover, John Paul Richardson, Jessica Caneer, and Brent Johnson; twelve great-grandchildren, Logan Kissiar, Hali Kissiar, Ali Kissiar, Mia Cannon, Jalen Seay, Gage Henderson, Leland Johnson, Chase Johnson, McKenzie Tharp, Kensey Caneer, Porter Caneer and Dani Caneer; one great grand-child, Ember Thomas; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was her husband, Charles William Puckett; parents, Leonard Riley and Bertie Waters Riley; two sisters, Frances Robertson, Bessie Clark; two brothers, John Riley and Lewis Riley.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Greenwell officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Church Cemetery in Gage, KY.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
