Dorothy "Dot" Nell Travis passed away peacefully at Providence Healthcare Nursing Home on April 18, 2024.
A loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she will be remembered for her sense of humor and scratch cooking including pies, cakes, and chicken and dumplings. She was a longtime member of Southland Baptist Temple and frequently attended services at Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church. Born in Murray, Kentucky on September, 22, 1931, Dot met Feltner "Peavine" Travis in Paducah, where the two were married and raised three children: Tommy, Brenda, and Ronny.
Dot is survived by her children Brenda Powell (Bobby) of Paducah, Ronny Travis (Jennifer) of Paducah, and grandchildren Amy Henderson (Russell) and Shaun Powell (Ani). She also leaves behind and remembers her sister Carolyn Marshall and brother Bobby Joe Armstrong.
Preceding Dot in death were her husband of 62 years Peavine Travis, her son Tommy Travis, her granddaughter Tracy Travis, her parents Joe and Lenora Armstrong, and her sisters Shirley Copeland and Jackie Myatt.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Brother Eddie Smith officiating.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the service hour of 11:30 am on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
A private ceremony will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah.
