Dorothy D. Teasley

Dorothy D. Teasley, Our beloved mom and granny went to live with Jesus on July 3, 2024. At the time of her passing, Dorothy Dean Milner Teasley was 93 years old and resided in Cunningham.

Dorothy had many names during her lifetime including Sis, Dot, Mom, Granny, and Granny Dot. She retired from Burkart’s in Cairo and had been a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cunningham since January 22, 1945. She was not one to be still and enjoyed cooking, canning, baking, gardening, sewing, traveling, and watching her family play ball. She taught many of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to cook and bake our favorite dishes, sew, and garden.

Waiting for her in heaven is her dearly missed husband of 66 years, whom she affectionately called Daddy J; mother and daddy, Effie Lee and Grafton Milner; and birth father William Griffin DeJarnett.

Cherishing her memory are two sons: Gary (Jennie) Teasley of Bardwell and Greg (Jeanne) Teasley of Cunningham; eight grandchildren: Jami (Brian) DeRousse of Bardwell, Kasey Teasley of Cunningham, Jessica (Brad) Perry of Bardwell, Nick (Ivy) Teasley of Bardwell, Jacob (Lauren) Teasley of Cunningham, Ross (Breelyn) Teasley of Cunningham, Carey (Michael) Kovach of Adamstown, Maryland, and Cody Talley of McCracken County; and ten great-grandchildren: Madison DeRousse, Maredith DeRousse, Chase Teasley, Kamryn Perry, Jasey Teasley, Ada Teasley, Aubrey Teasley, Wyatt Teasley, Autumn Teasley, and Jade Teasley; and brother, Bob (Carolyn) Milner of Bardwell.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Bro. Tim Harvey officiating. Burial will follow at the Cunningham Memorial Gardens.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Countryside Nursing in Bardwell & special friend, Caitlyn Laird, for taking excellent care of her until her passing.
