Don Dowdy

Don Dowdy , age 83, of Kevil, Kentucky passed away at 11:40 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022 at his home.  Don was a graduate of Danville High School in Danville, Illinois.  Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War.  He was retired from Union Carbide where he worked as a machinist.  He enjoyed Amazon shopping, working on the computer, internet browsing and photography.
 
Survivors include one daughter, Susan Fabian of Atlanta, GA; one son; David Dowdy of Brookport, ILL; one daughter-in-law; Beth Dowdy; special friend and nurse, Margaret Ferguson; two grandchildren, Chad Dowdy, Kevil, KY and Justin (Jessica) Morris, Atlanta, Ga;  four great-grandchildren, Penelope Morris, Margot Morris, Cooper Morris and Julian Morris.
 
Preceding in death was his wife, Rosemary Wallen Dowdy; parents, Charles Dowdy and Kathlene “Kay” Vinson Dowdy; one son, Bruce Dowdy and two sisters, Janet and Doris.
 
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bill Miller officiating,.  Burial will follow at the Woodville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
