Dolores Darnell Collier

Dolores Darnell Collier, of Paducah, Kentucky, known affectionately as Dolores by all who cherished her, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City.
 
Dolores was born on October 22, 1940, to the late, William and Jessie Bracken Darnell, in the small town of Ullin, Illinois.  She was a beloved member of the East Baptist Church, where she devoted her time to both her faith and her family. With a nurturing spirit, she embraced her role as a homemaker and also shared her artistic talents as a cosmetologist, brightening the lives of many with her skilled hands and warm conversations.

Dolores had a refined eye for beauty which was evident in her love for collecting antique dishes, glassware, and figurines—a passion that filled her home with the charm of bygone eras. Those who knew her will remember her gentle smile and the elegance she brought into every space.
 
Dolores is survived by a daughter, Donna K. Collier of Paducah; two grandchildren, Darren Brent Talbert and his wife, Lindsey of Paducah, Hayley Shawn Talbert of Stewartville, Alabama; five great-grandchildren, Mary Beth Talbert, Camden Tyler, Madilyn Tyler, Cailynn Marie Mann and Landon James Mann; two nephews, Jerry Collier and Terry Lynn Collier; a niece, Debbe Raby; and several other nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Collier; an infant son, Michael Wayne Collier and a son, Kenneth Wayne Collier Jr.; one sister and eight brothers.
 
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
 
Milner and Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah are in charge of arrangements.
