Dena Hurt

Dena G. Hurt, a beloved sister and aunt, of Milan, Tennessee, and formerly of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her home on her 70th birthday, Sunday, April 27, 2025.  

Dena was born on April 27, 1955, to Beryl Hurt and Delora Dean Hurt.  Raised in Paducah, she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Paducah. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Murray State University and then completed her Master’s Degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. Dena worked in the auto business with her family for many years.  After retiring from the McCracken County Clerk's office, Dena cared for her aging parents.  After their passing, she relocated to Milan, TN to be close to her nephews and nieces. She quickly became an active member at First Baptist  Church Milan where she enjoyed spending time with ladies in her Sunday School class.

Dena was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.  Dena’s zeal for life was evident in her support of the University of Kentucky Basketball team. However, there was nothing she loved more than attending school events for her nieces and spending quality time with friends and family.

Survivors include one brother, Dan Hurt (Andra), Paducah, KY; one niece, Shannon Hurt Stewart (Jonathan), Chattanooga, TN; one nephew, Jason Hurt (Carrie), Milan, TN; six great nieces, Sammie Stewart, Carlee Hayse Stewart, and twins, Stella & Adelaide Stewart, Caroline Hurt and Lynnley Hurt.

Graveside services will be held at noon, Saturday, May 3, 2025, at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Jason Hurt officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home from 9:30- 11:30 am.
