Deborah Ann McClellon-Mason was born on November 12, 1953, in Sikeston, Missouri to Odessa and Elisha McClellon. She departed this earth to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on June 13, 2024, in Tampa, Florida.
She is survived by her children Jenese Mason-Sammons (Joseph) of New Port Richey, Florida, Pamela Townsend of Tampa, Florida and John Mitchell Mason Jr (Chondra) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She has four grandchildren: Trevon Townsend and Xavier Townsend (Pamela), Sydney Mason and Riley Mason (Mitch and Chondra). She also has two great grandchildren, Major Townsend and Mikah Townsend and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Deborah is also survived by her beloved mother Odessa McClellon of Auburn Hills, Michigan, and her brother Jon Paul McClellon (Kimberly) of Hartford, Connecticut. She leaves behind nephews and nieces Jon Paul McClellon Jr, Hannah McClellon, Noah McClellon and many, more beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deborah was preceded in death by her beloved husband John Mitchell Mason Sr., and her father, Elisha McClellon.
Deborah asked Jesus Christ into her heart at a very early age and was baptized at Green Memorial Church of God In Christ, in Sikeston, Missouri.
Since the age of 4 years old, Deborah was gifted with the amazing ability to sing to the Glory of God that literally moved the hearts and souls of all that heard. Deborah will be remembered for her beautiful smile and contagious laugh that brought joy to everyone who knew her. As a devoted wife and mother, Deborah was absolutely committed to loving and giving her life and heart to her family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Oakton, Kentucky with Rev. Anthony Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time of 12:00 pm on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
