DeDe Whitlock

Annetta “DeDe” Whitlock, age 81, of Bardwell, Kentucky, passed away at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on Monday, December 16, 2024.

DeDe was born in Bardwell, Kentucky on November 28, 1943, to the late Tollie and Mary Sams Tolbird. She was a member of Corinth United Methodist Church in Cunningham, Kentucky. DeDe was an incredibly gifted artist who enjoyed painting and quilting. Her love for her pets was unconditional, and her flower gardens were a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit. DeDe’s skills in the kitchen were unmatched, and she was widely recognized as the best cook among her family and friends, often bringing people together with her delicious meals. An avid card player, DeDe's laughter filled the room during many friendly, yet competitive matches with loved ones.

DeDe is survived by her husband of 60 years, David Whitlock; a daughter, Jackie (Steve) Young, of Clinton, Kentucky; two sons, Andy (Julie) Whitlock, of Fancy Farm, Kentucky, and Mark (Kimberly) Whitlock, of Wilson County, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Lindsey (Preston) Wilferd, Austin (Mallory) Whitlock, Logan (Kaylee) Brower, and Quintin Brower; and three great-grandchildren, Bryce, Brodie, and Olive.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Mitchell Tolbird; her sister, Wanda McCombs; and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Bro. Arnold Puckett officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the funeral home.
