David Wayne Fleming, 86, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
David's life was marked by dedication and enthusiasm. A cherished member of the First Presbyterian Church, he created strong ties within the community. David's diligent work at Wonder Market and Modine Manufacturing and eventual retirement from Jackson Purchase Electric as a Warehouse Foreman were testaments to his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Outside his career, David found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid lover of sports, he supported the University of Kentucky's athletic teams. His passion for bowling was unwavering, a journey legitimatized when he bowled his first perfect game in 1987. He found solace and delight in travel and treasured the camaraderie it brought. A knife collector, David's quest for unique pieces was both a hobby and a window into history. David's legacy is one adorned with moments of triumph and boundless vitality. His presence will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
David is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Valerie Faye Kirk Fleming; two sons, Gary L. (Pamela) Fleming of Normal, Illinois, and Jeff W. (Dawn) Fleming of Paducah; two grandchildren, Sarah (Danny) Watson of Benton, Kentucky, and Kody Weston Keeling of Paducah; four great-grandchildren, Waylon Watson, Chase Watson, Korra Keeling, and Brooklyn Keeling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, D.C. Fleming and Marguerite Housman Fleming.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Alexis Allum officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
