David Wallace Mathis, Sr. age 76, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at his home.
David was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 18, 1947. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and retired as a technician with the U.S. Department Energy. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, and was an award winning clay target shooter. He was a dedicated U.K. sports fan, especially basketball.
Perhaps one of his most significant legacies was being a caring and supportive father. Mr. Mathis is survived by his son, David Wallace Mathis, Jr. of Bailey, Colorado.
Mr. Mathis was preceded in death by his parents, James Harry Mathis and Florence Wallace Mathis.
No services are scheduled at this time.
