David Charles Burton

David Charles Burton, a cherished husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 26, 2024, at the age of 80 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky. David was born on July 5, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Anita Clara and Charles Henry Burton.

David proudly served his nation as an Army Veteran, a chapter in his life that shaped much of his character and work ethic. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and successful career with Goodyear, dedicating 30 years to the company. His passion for life extended beyond his professional endeavors. David loved to golf, hunt, and fish, but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family. He was a rock for them, demonstrating through his actions what it meant to be a loving husband, a great father, and a grandfather. His gentle guidance and unwavering support were the foundations upon which his family grew. David’s passing leaves behind a void that can never be filled, yet his legacy endures through the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the love he shared.

David is survived by his wife of 54 years, Anita Burton; one daughter, Teena (Lance) Young of Martin, Tennessee; one son, David (Kathy Jo) Burton of Fancy Farm, Kentucky; and two grandchildren, Brooklyn Marie Young and Hunter Thomas Burton.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Anita Lambert; two brothers, James Wesley Burton and Joseph Richard Burton; and his parents.

Funeral services for Mr. Burton will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington, with Fr. Anthony Ottagan officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the 1:00 pm service time at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
