Dan Wallace, a retired master carpenter and cherished community pillar, passed away on February 5, 2025, at River Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation. Born on October 3, 1939, in Paducah, Kentucky, Dan's skilled hands and warm heart left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Dan dedicated his life to service, both in uniform and through his work. His legacy as a craftsman is epitomized by the first circle stairways installed in the region, a testament to his ingenuity and commitment to excellence. In retirement, he continued to lend his talents to the churches he loved, imbuing each sanctuary with his devotion and skill.

Dan's faith was a cornerstone of his life, serving as a deacon at Sharpe Missionary Baptist Church before joining the West End Baptist Church community. He was also an enthusiastic member of the Home Builders Association, where he shared his passion for construction.

Remembered for his gentle, considerate nature, and compassionate humor, Dan found joy in carving elaborate scenes from his cherished homestead, creating beauty that will endure. 

Dan is survived by his wife, Ann Jeanette Darnall Wallace; two daughters, Regina Spicer (Don) of Paducah and Tina Riley (Terry) of  Fancy Farm; two sisters, Nancy Jones of Calvert City and Judy Dyer of Blairsville, Georgia; three brothers, Edwin Wallace of Paducah, John Wallace of Symsonia and Preston Wallace (Kathleen) of Atlanta; three grandchildren, Tyson Riley (Meggan), Cole Spicer (Lauren) and Daly Spicer; and one great-grandchild, Graysen Riley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nola Wallace; three sisters, Louise Sullivan, Betty Moyer and Sue Suggs; and six brothers, Eddie Wallace, Donnie Wallace, Clifton Wallace, Larry Wallace, James Wallace and David Wallace.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 pm on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
