Christopher Grant Carter, aged 74, passed away peacefully at 6:51 PM on November 11, 2024, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Center in Paducah, KY. He was born on November 12, 1950, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Harold Lee Carter and Virginia Lee Hughes Carter.
Chris was a very active and happy child and was exceedingly smart. As a teenager his favorite thing to do was surf off the beaches of Panama [Canal Zone]. As he grew older, he became very well-read and also immersed himself into the workings of the American Government and enjoyed politics. He would debate anyone if they dared to discuss politics with him. He had a picture-perfect memory and took pride in his ability to recall names and dates and activities.
Chris was a very kind, sweet and eccentric brother. He took care of both his and our parents’ parrots and loved kitty cats. Even the strays he could not resist making sure they were fed. We will miss Chris immensely.
He is survived by his brother, Marc Carter of Eaton, OH and two sisters, Mary Carter of Smithland, KY and Barbara Bacot of Zephyrhills, FL.
There will be no services at this time. Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah are in charge of arrangements.
