Christian "Chris" J. Orsborn Jr., passed away peacefully to heaven on November 9, 2024, at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. He was born on August 16, 1942, in Butler, Pennsylvania, to Christian J. and Dorothy Roe Orsborn. Chris's life was marked by his unwavering kindness, generosity, and dedication to his faith, family, and profession.
Chris's academic journey led him to Fenn College in Cleveland, Ohio, where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. This education paved the way for a distinguished career over four decades. Chris worked as a chemical and environmental engineer at BF Goodrich, Geon, and PolyOne, where his expertise and work ethic were highly valued.
Beyond his professional life, Chris was deeply involved in his community and church. A member of the Gospel Mission Worship Center, he served as an elder and Sunday school teacher, touching the lives of many with his wisdom and compassion. His commitment to his faith was evident in every aspect of his life and inspired those around him.
Chris's interests were as rich and varied as his contributions to his community. He was an avid gardener, enjoying the simple pleasure of tending to his plants and watching them grow. His love for writing allowed him to express his thoughts and share his experiences, while his fondness for puzzles challenged his keen intellect.
Traveling was one of Chris and his wife, Mary’s greatest joys. Together, they journeyed across the country, creating a tapestry of memories by visiting family and exploring the diverse landscapes of America. These trips not only strengthened their bond but also allowed them to make countless friends along the way.
