Charles Thad Hall, a revered and cherished figure within his community, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, surrounded by compassion and care at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Born on July 24, 1945, in Harrisburg, Illinois, Charles's life was a testament to dedication, service, and love for those around him.

Upon graduating from Ballard Memorial High School in 1963, Charles furthered his education at Murray State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. His professional commitment shown brightly as the retired Chief of Fire and Security at USEC. His valor as a Vietnam Veteran and Purple Heart recipient while serving as Major in the U.S. Army and later in the Army Reserves, spoke volumes about his bravery and patriotism.

Beyond his professional and military achievements, Charles was a devout and vital member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Wickliffe, where he contributed as a deacon, treasurer, and choir leader. His faith was a cornerstone in his life, guiding him to live as a compassionate and generous Christian man.

Charles was also known for his enthusiasm as an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was a good day of fishing or a memorable trip to the mountains and the beach. His loving nature and kind heart enriched the lives of everyone he met.

Charles is survived by his son, Charles Anthony Hall (Melissa) of Metropolis, Illinois; two daughters, Jana Logsdon and Laura Ratta of Wickliffe; three sisters, Jane Russell (Gene) of Wickliffe, Ann Gridley of Paducah and Norma Campbell (Paul) of Florida; brother, Dale Hall of Paducah; six grandchildren, Dylon Hall (Haley), Erika Garrett, Ricky Ratta, Kyle Ratta, Jason Buchanan and Jordan Buchanan; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mable Hall and one sister, Merlene Cooper.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Bro. Mike Suiter officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
