Charles "Mike" Jones, a beloved figure in his community and a man of many talents, passed away on June 5, 2025 at the age of 68.  Born on December 30, 1956, in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Buck Jones and Mary Ellen Ray Jones, Mike became known for his love of youth soccer, martial arts, and the Beatles.

Mike treasured his career as an electrician, retiring from the United States Enrichment Corporation (USEC), where he not only honed his technical skills but also built enduring friendships. He took immense pride in his craft and was an active member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Mike was recognized as a Kentucky Colonel in 1986, an honor that reflected his great love for his state, and in the same year, he was celebrated with the title of Duke of Paducah, a testament to his deep-rooted impact on his hometown including his work in the Elks Club.

A lifelong learner and teacher, Mike was a passionate advocate for the Jackson Purchase Rifle and Pistol Club, sharing his expertise and fostering responsible firearm usage as an instructor of concealed carry classes. His love for the sport was matched by an equal passion for martial arts; not only did he achieve black belts in three different styles, but he also owned and operated his karate studio, where he molded many students with his disciplined yet caring approach.

Mike's enthusiasm for music was unmistakable, especially for the timeless melodies of the Beatles, whose songs could always bring a smile to his face. His love for guiding the youth shone brightly as he dedicated time to coach youth soccer, where his stubborn, headstrong nature served him well in building resilient teams.

As we mourn the loss of Charles "Mike" Jones, we also celebrate a life well-lived-a life filled with passion, service, and joy. His passing may signify the end of an era, but the memories he created and the lives he touched will endure for generations to come.

Mike is survived by two daughters, Crystal (Brian) Arnett of Paducah, Kentucky and Amber (Donnie) Stone of FT. Walton Beach, Florida; one step-son, Todd Hiett; one sister, Tricia (Donald) Durrett of Paducah, Kentucky; and five grandchildren, Bailey Arnett, Peyton Arnett, Riley Arnett, Donovin Stone, and Devyn Stone.  Besides his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his wife Betty Pierce Jones.

A funeral service will be held at 1 P.M. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah, Kentucky with Rev. Jamie Coomer officiating.  The visitation will begin at 11 A.M. on June 10, 2025 at the funeral home.
