Charles ‘Charlie’ W. Hayden, age 77, of Paducah, passed away on August 10, 2024, at the University of Louisville Hospital.
 
Charlie graduated from St. Mary High School where he played basketball and attended Paducah Community College. He worked for Continental General Tire for 37 years.  He loved all classic cars, especially the Chevrolet Camaro. He restored and painted one of these for him and one for his son, Stephen. Charlie was a University of Kentucky basketball fan and knew all the stats. He was looking forward to the Mark Pope era. He very much enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and his family. He coached basketball at St. Francis and, St. Mary Middle School.  He also coached little league baseball at Noble Park. He was a patient man and could fix anything. He was a lifelong member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, where he was an usher for many years.
 
Charlie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Ferris Hayden; a daughter, Sherri DeCicco and her husband, Matt of Paducah; a son, Stephen Hayden, and his wife Kathy of Paducah;  eight grandchildren, Zachary, Mason, Christopher, Austin, Tyler, Sarah, Sam and Amanda; 10 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Charity Peters, her husband, Corey and their children, Sydney and Riley, all of Paducah; a special son, Ray Maynard and his wife, Gina of Corydon, Indiana; two sisters, Jeanie Langston and her husband, Irvin of Paducah, Ann Utley and her husband, Rob of Paducah; two brothers, Tommy Hayden and his wife, Patsy of Paducah, and David Hayden and his wife, Phyllis of Paducah.
 
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Hilton; and his parents were, Charles Jesse and Odell Womble Hayden.
 
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Clark officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
