Carolyn Wampler

Carolyn Wampler, age 74, of Paducah, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Mercy Health Lourdes.
 
Carolyn was born March 12, 1948 in Paducah to JW and Lanell Cooper Carman.  She enjoyed sewing and made flower girls dresses, prom dress, and clothes for her children. When her daughters were in band, Carolyn was in charge of maintaining uniforms and made color guard flags. Carolyn had a knack for decorating, interior and exterior design.  She made sure that her husband knew where each plant or shrub was to be planted and each item in the house was to be hung.  Reading was a favorite past time of hers.  She could get lost in historical romance books.  Carolyn was always very fashionable.   She enjoyed watching the jewelry channel and ordering whatever jewelry caught her eye.  She made sure she always had the perfect jewelry and headband to match the outfits from her favorite store, The Dirt Road.  Carolyn was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church.
 
Carolyn is survived by her husband of almost 49 years, John Wampler; two daughters, Mary Wampler (Joe Yamada) of Paducah, Marcella Gilliam (Caleb) of Paducah; four grandchildren, Lyla Gilliam, Lily Gilliam, Eli Gilliam, Yuna Yamada; one sister, Joyce Bergstrom of Rockford, Illinois and one brother, Jerry Carman of Merritt, Florida.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents.
 
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
 
There will be no public service.
