Candice LeaAnn Mainord Clifton enjoyed 44 years on this earth.  Her Lord called her to her eternal home on August 20, 2024.  Her life began on November 4, 1979 in Clinton, KY.  She was next to the last baby delivered at Clinton Hospital.  She was a real beauty in the nursery, people told her mom and dad what a pretty baby they had.  Candice grew up to be a beautiful woman; who many have said lit up the room with her big smile, and bright personality.  Candice loved life and people were not a stranger to her for very long!

Candice displayed a variety of beautiful qualities.  For some she was an advocate, an inspiration for many, and fun loving to all.  She thrived on helping others in any situation they were in.  Candice attacked everything with fierce motivation, and a “get it done” spirit.  She enjoyed helping with anything from a simple get together, an over-the-top party, preparing a comforting meal, helping someone get ready for prom, and the list could go on and on.  Most recently, she enjoyed helping others with cancer by sharing the wisdom she had acquired through her own cancer journey.  She leaves a legacy of fighting this disease with her faith in God, a contagious positive attitude, and being educated about cancer along with the treatment she was receiving.  She enjoyed talking to others about their diagnosis, researching and educating them, and telling them about the miraculous blessings she has received from God.

Candice spent most of her adult life working as office staff in medical offices. She left that field 3 years ago to pursue a career with Clayton Homes in Paducah.  She began as a sales person and also staged homes.  Her passion for home design was on display in many homes throughout her time there.  She was very talented with floral arranging, decorating, and making anything look beautiful.  In time, she was promoted to lot manager.  She loved her job and staff!

When she wasn’t working, Candice loved spending time with her family, especially her children, Aidan and Addyson.  Her home was always a happening spot with friends visiting, but she also enjoyed doing whatever they were getting into with their friends.  She was regularly seen riding the side by side in the Berkley bottoms, playing corn hole, or at bowling tournaments with her kids.  She also loved the lake life on Kentucky Lake.

Those who will love and remember her from her earthly home are her parents, Craig and Sonya Mainord, her children, Aidan and Addyson, her sister, Jere (Mike) Clark, her niece, Annalise Clark, aunt, Kay (Mike) McChristian, aunt, Teresa (Mark) Lathem, aunt, Lisa (Dewayne) Polivick, uncle, Bobby (Joyce) Carder, uncle, Keith Mainord.  Candice leaves behind a wealth of family and friends and a passion for life few people get to enjoy.

Those greeting her in her heavenly home include her paternal grandparents, Dick and Olene Mainord, her maternal grandparents, Oben and Helen Sams, uncle Ricky Sams, uncle, Jerry Carder, and the baby she has never seen.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.  Visitation will also be held from 11:00 am until  the 2:00 pm service time on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.

A celebration of life service will held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Ty Hayes officiating.  Please join us in celebrating this occasion.  Wear your brightest colors, leave sad and drab in the closet.  Candice has instructed this to be joyous, because as she said many times, “I know where I’m going, either way, I’m good!”
