Brian Elder

Brian Elder, age 53, passed away at Baptist Health Emergency Room on February 8, 2025. Brian was born on July 30, 1971, in Paducah, KY.  His strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the proud owner of Bob Hick's Body Shop, as well as a certified realtor.  Brian had an eye for detail and could do anything he put his mind to. He was a perfectionist in the best way.

Brian's love for life was evident in his hobbies and interests. He was an avid dirt car racing enthusiast, both as a driver and owner, and found joy in the roar of his Harley Davidson motorcycle. His free time was often spent bass fishing, restoring classic cars, and racing motorcycles.  At home, Brian enjoyed the simple pleasure of mowing his six acres, doing various carpentry and metalwork projects, and relaxing with his beloved dachshunds, Oliver and Oakley.

He served as a faithful member and board member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Metropolis, Illinois. 
 
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Claire Brown Elder; his father David Albert Elder; his mother Brenda Jean Lawrence; one sister Treska (Josh) Payne; one brother-in-law Evan (Karen) Brown; his mother-in-law Barbara Brown; nephews and nieces Dalton Payne, Karlee Payne, Eli Brown, and Abby Brown; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his racing family.
 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Albert and Mildred Elder and Dee and Shirley Gilbert. 
 
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Milner and Orr Funeral and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Timothy Bean officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Milner and Orr Funeral and Cremation Services of Paducah.
