Bob Dunlap, age 68, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital.

Bob was born in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania on February 5, 1955 to the late Stewart and Joan Dunlap.  He was a 1973 graduate of Upper Merion High School and was a 1977 graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.  Bob began his career in 1977 working for Westvaco as a Chemical Engineer in Luke, Maryland before being transferred to Wickliffe, Kentucky in 1988 for the conversion of the plant to coated paper.  In 2018, after a 41 year career with various management positions in production, he retired from the New Page Corporation.

Bob loved nature and his love for the natural world was evident in how he spent his time.  In 2005, he was awarded as the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission Volunteer Steward of the Year and was a member of the Kentucky Native Plant Society.  He wrote several articles published in journals on native plants and was recognized as a Master Naturalist. He loved to share his knowledge by giving presentations on native plants and leading nature walks in the area.  Bob became very fond of genealogy and loved to share his work with his extended family.  He was also an avid Penn State and Philadelphia sports fan.  

Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, Michelle White Dunlap; two daughters, Claire Dunlap of Denver, Colorado and Gayle Anstett (Drew) of Newport, Kentucky; one son, Scott Ruppenkamp of Lexington, Kentucky; one sister, Patricia Dunlap of York, Pennsylvania; one brother, Steve Dunlap of Birmingham, Alabama; one grandson, Wyatt Anstett; his brother-in-law, Gary White (Kathy) of Cumberland, Maryland; and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Father Brad Whistle officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
