Billy Joe Perdew, a lifelong resident of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on May 14, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on October 17, 1937, Billy Joe was known for his unwavering work ethic, which was evident throughout his 30-year tenure as a Trainman with Illinois Central Railroad. His passion for life was matched by his love for riding motorcycles, a hobby that took him on an unforgettable journey to Bossier City, Louisiana.
Those who knew Billy Joe will fondly remember his deep faith; he was a dedicated member of the Rickman Road Baptist Church. Above all, Billy Joe's greatest joy was his family, whom he cherished with all his heart. His kind spirit and warm presence will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Billy Joe is survived by two sons, Randy Joe Perdew of Paducah, Kentucky, and Richard Allen (Julie) Perdew of New Bern, North Carolina.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Clutts Perdew; a granddaughter, Andrea Perdew; a sister, Julia Ann Hall; a brother, James Ellis Perdew; and his parents, James Edward and Louise McCord Perdew.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Durrett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
