Bill Montgomery, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Bill was born on March 1, 1934, in Gideon, Missouri to the late John Silas Montgomery and Charity Montgomery. Bill was a member of Milburn Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Dexter High School. He retired from Union Carbide, where he worked as a Construction Engineer and Draftsman Estimator.
Bill loved baseball, playing as a young boy and watching as an adult, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include two daughters; Rita (Kevin) Pugh, Paducah, Kentucky, and Amy (Steven) Mitchell, London, Arkansas; two sons, Richard (Tara) Montgomery, West Paducah, Kentucky, and Andy (Natalie)Montgomery of Paducah, Kentucky; one sister, Joan Golden, Jonesboro, Arkansas and one brother, Sam Montgomery, Dexter, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; Daniel (Shana) Pugh, Caitlin (Dr. Eric) Fleming, Canaan (Rebecca) Montgomery, Emily (Perry) Snowden, Will (Paige) Montgomery, Alexandria (Nick) Pappayliou, Sydney (Tristan) Ingram, Hannah Mitchell, Lydia (Chris) Rogers, Ethan Mitchell, and Bethany Mitchell; 15 great-grandchildren; Emma, Ward, Makeylee. Annie, Bronson, and Koby Pugh; Samuel and Luke Fleming; Eli, Reid, McKenna, and Walker Montgomery; Harper, Hudson, and Harrison Snowden; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death was his wife, Lola Faye Dieth Montgomery; parents, John Silas Montgomery and Charity Keiffer Montgomery; one sister, Lola Young; seven brothers, Hollis, Garfield, Leon, Paul, Bremen, Jerry Dean, and Bob Montgomery.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Larry Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at the Harris Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour of 1:00 p.m.
