Beulah Ashbrook

Beulah Mae (Boots) Ashbrook went to be with the Lord on September 14, 2021. She was born on September 28, 1934 in Murray, Kentucky to the Late Eneas H. and Cozette Ashbrook.
 
Boots had a bachelor’s degree from Murray State University in 1955, a master’s degree from Duke University in 1964, a master’s degree from the University of Memphis in 1971 and a doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1973.
 
Boots joined First United Methodist Church in 1967 and was an active member up until her death.  She held various positions on the Church Council including serving as both Chairperson of the Trustees and the Finance Committee and more recently, President of the United Methodist Women.  She was also a longtime member of the church choir.
 
Boots was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald H. and Ray L. Ashbrook.
 
She is survived by her nieces, Cindy Baum of Louisville KY and Deb Ashbrook of Kalamazoo, MI, and her nephews, Gerald A Ashbrook of Spring, TX and David Ashbrook of Indianapolis, IN; several great-nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews and a great-great-great-niece.
 
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Roselawn Cemetery.
