Bennie Durbin passed peacefully at home on September 9, 2024. A lifelong pillar of the Lone Oak community, he was born in McCracken County on March 27, 1931 and he dedicated his life to service, faith, and family.  A consummate businessman, Bennie was the longstanding owner of Durbin's Service Station from 1962 to 2022. His commitment to his country was evident through his service in the US Army and National Guard during Korean War era.

Bennie proudly engaged in his community as a lifetime member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church and as a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus. His legacy includes time-honored service with the Chief Paduke American Legion Post #31. A devout family man, Bennie's warmth radiated through his involvement in church activities, particularly the fish fry and picnics. His unwavering spirit and dedication to God, country and family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Bennie is survived by his wife of almost 74 years, Doris Dunaway Durbin; one daughter, Pam Durbin Matlock (Bill) of Gilbertsville; one brother, Lawrence Durbin of Paducah; daughter-in-law, Debbie Durbin of Paducah; four grandchildren, Derek Durbin (Melissa) of Paducah, Derrin Durbin (Sarah) of Paducah, Devon Clark (Brad) of Paducah and B.J. Farrell (Paul) of Annapolis, Maryland; and ten great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Durbin, Kaden Durbin, Kolson Durbin, Knox Durbin, Knash Durbin, William Farrell, Lilly Farrell, Dylin Durbin, Saylor Durbin, Skylar Clark, Olivia Clark and Durbin Clark.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dora Durbin; his son, Del Durbin; four sisters, Edith Wurth, Sister Dorothy Marie Durbin, Pearl Vinson and Sister Jean Mary Durbin; and three brothers, Paul Durbin, Richard Durbin and Alton Durbin.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Fogle officiating.  Burial will follow at St. John cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes.  A rosary prayer service will be held at 5:00 pm.
