Barbara Ann Bogard, age 81, of West Paducah, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Barbara was born on July 12, 1942 in Bumpus Mills, Tennessee to James “Allen”  and Mary Feltner Sholar. She was the caretaker of the family, always making sure everyone was fed and had all their needs met.  She was known for her infamous peanut brittle and pecan pies that were delicious down to the last crumb.  When Barbara wasn’t cooking or taking care of her family, she could be found reading her Bible.  She was a member of High Point Pentecostal Church.

Barbara is survived by one daughter, Deana Ann Rather (Andrew) of Paducah; one grandson, Joshua Andrew Rather; one sister, Martha Sholar Booher (Ted) of West Paducah; one brother, Albert Sholar (Beverly) of West Paducah; Nieces: Hope Sholar Robertson and children, Blake, Blaze, Leena, and Meadow; Savannah Booher Stephens (Curtis) and children, Cooper and Josie; one nephew, Chad Booher.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Shelby Dean Bogard and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Doug Stevens officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Palestine Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
