Barbara Cordell Maxwell, age 57, of Bardwell, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Barbara was born in Paducah on February 27, 1967, to Anna Mae Hammer Crawford of Bardwell and the late David Earl Crawford, Sr. Throughout her life, Barbara dedicated herself to caring for others as a housekeeper in home health, where she became a cherished presence in the lives of her patients. Her dedication stemmed from a genuine desire to help those around her.
Barbara’s passion for the outdoors was profound; she relished in the simple joys of fishing and camping. These moments spent amid nature were only rivaled by the love and laughter she shared with her beloved family and grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Thomas Lee Maxwell of Bardwell; a daughter, Ashley (James) Dowdy of Gage, Kentucky; a son, Tyler (Cortney) Cordell of Hickory, Kentucky; a sister, Brenda Lee O’Connor of Bardwell; a brother, David Earl Crawford, Jr. of Lone Oak; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and several siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until the service time of 1:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the funeral home.
