Audrey Cathryn Warner, a spirited and independent soul, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2024, at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Paducah, Kentucky, at the venerable age of 96. She was born on November 9, 1927, in the serene hill station of Kasauli, India, to Walter E. and Elizabeth Rebecca Buckley Hamilton. Audrey's early years were as picturesque as her birthplace.

Audrey's life was marked by her unwavering spirit and dedication. At the tender age of 16, she joined the Royal Air Force, where she served with distinction and rose to the rank of Lieutenant. Her service was a testament to her strength and commitment to her country. Upon moving to the states, she was employed by Claussner Hosiery Company. A woman of faith, Audrey was deeply rooted in the Episcopal Church, where she found solace and community.

Audrey's zest for life was evident in her hobbies. She was an avid dancer, with ballroom dancing being a particular favorite. Her grace and poise on the dance floor were a joy to behold especially with husband, James. When not dancing, Audrey could often be found with knitting needles or a sewing needle in hand, creating beautiful pieces for her friends and loved ones. She also cherished the quiet moments spent with a good book, losing herself in the stories and adventures within the pages.

She is survived by a daughter, Margurite Russell of Gilbertsville, KY; two sons, Keith (Linda) Warner of Paducah and Richard Lee (Carmen) Warner Jr. of Paducah; her four grandchildren, Brian (Janine) Russell, Matthew Warner, Janet (Darrel) Hartman and Raulin Warner; four great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Warner of Mayfield along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, James Harris Warner; two sons, James Hamilton Warner and Richard Lee Warner; a son-in-law, Curtis Russell; a grandson, Craig Russell; her two sisters, Norah Cynthia Faulkner and Heather Maureen Heatherly and a brother, Cedrick Keith Hamilton.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.  There will be no public visitation.  The Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
