Ardeth Sneddon, age 91, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on October 15, 2024.
Ardeth was born July 17, 1933 in Litchfield, Connecticut to William and Caroline Hart. A Paducah resident for the past 20 years, Ardeth was a faithful member of the Lone Oak United Methodist Church, where she loved serving as the nursery attendant for many years while also working in the floral department of Super Value foods.
Prior to moving to Paducah, Ardeth invested 25 years of her life working on Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada in the Youth Services and Childcare Centers. In addition, three delightful summers were spent as a Campground Host at Dolomite Campground, Mt. Charleston, Nevada.
Ardeth believed in the power of volunteerism through service, giving her time to The Red Cross, Girl Scouts of the USA, Youth Soccer League, the YWCA and the Paducah Cooperative Ministry.
Ardeth loved to laugh, play with children, relish the beauty of nature, the joys of a trip to the library, a good cup of cappuccino, flowers of all kinds and being surrounded by music and family.
Ms Sneddon is survived by her daughters, Heidi Suhrheinrich of Paducah and Geri Shepherd (Scott) of Hilo, Hawaii; her son, Jeff Sneddon (Leslie) of Swan Valley, Idaho; her sister, Veona Cashman of Manchester, Connecticut; her brother, Douglas Hart of Henderson, Nevada; her grandchildren, Jody Suhrheinrich, Emily Suhrheinrich-Weeks (Shaun), Jeannie Suhrheinrich, Marston Sneddon (Isibel), and Isaiah Sneddon (Lily); her great-granddaughter, Ariadne Weeks.
Ms. Sneddon was preceded in death by her parents, William D Hart and Caroline Gadd Hart; and her brother, Gordon Hart.
A memorial funeral service and visitation will be held at Lone Oak United Methodist Church in the spring of 2025, with an urn burial in Connecticut.
