Alan Sellers, 90, of Karnak, Illinois passed away at 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at Mercy Health Lourdes. He was born on May 11, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Leroy and Elizabeth (Maxwell) Sellers. Alan was retired from Vulcan Materials after 32 years of service as a Diesel Mechanic. He enjoyed snowmobiling for many years with his family and friends. Alan served in the Illinois National Guard for eight years. The family would like to thank Alan’s special friends, Jeanne “Sis” and Jim for keeping Alan in their thoughts and also to his Hospice Nurse, Debra, for all her love and care that she gave to Alan.
Alan is survived by his daughter, Sandra Sellers of Simpson, Illinois; son, Maxwell Sellers and wife, Deborah of Karnak, Illinois; two grandchildren, Crista Rozanski and Bozena Michalski; two great-grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Carmen; his special roommate, Bandit.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Gwendolyn Sellers; brother, Donald Sellers and his parents.
Per his wishes, no service will be held. A celebration of life planned for a later date.
