Sandy Weatherford, 63, of Dexter, KY was called home on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Baptist Health in Louisville, KY after a long term battle with restrictive lung disease, pulmonary hypertension and congestive heart failure, as a result of a motor vehicle accident she sustained in 2001. She passed beautifully and peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters, under the care of her long time, trusted heath care team.
Sandy was a homemaker and was of the Lutheran faith. She had a passion for raising Arabian horses, gardening, cooking down home comfort foods and various international cuisines. She was an avid quilter and Kaffe Fassett fan. Her three daughters and twelve grandchildren were her pride and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of instilling, with her heart and soul, her great faith for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ within them. She will be remembered for her immense sense of humor, great strength, determination and her abounding love for family.
Surviving are her three daughters, Julianna Madding of Auburn, KY, Heidi (Billy) DeRose of Paducah, KY, Katrina (David) Stewart of Dexter, KY; twelve grandchildren, Jordan Crawford, Mollie Crawford, Jeremiah Madding, Lillian Hillebrand, Avery Hillebrand, Gage Hillebrand, Penn Thomas, Adalynn Stewart, Annabelle Stewart, Caroline Stewart, Arden Stewart, Delano Stewart; and a special cousin, Lorraine Gollnick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin "Frank" Weatherford; one sister, Ava Castillo; and one brother, George Johnson; and her grandparents, Curtis and Bernice Bradley and Ruth Johnson.
Graveside services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, February, 21, 2026, at Brook Hill Memorial Gardens. Burial will follow.
