James Thomas Smith

James Thomas "Lil Tommy" Smith,48, originally from Chicago,Ill (Canaryville), residing in western KY went to his heavenly home on 9-23-23 at St.Thomas in Nashville,TN. 

Tommy was competitive his whole life especially with his siblings and cousin Michelle growing up. He loved spending time with family and playing basketball in his spare time. He had a certificate to be an electrician and had several jobs including coal mining til he got hurt.

He is survived by 2 sons, Dayton Smith of Clay, Ky. and Kyle Oglesby of Providence,KY. A grandson Taylor Lee Oglesby. Mother Cathy (Andy) Hearn. Brother Bobby (Kim) Smith. 2 sisters Marie Duncan and Melissa Stegman. 2 Uncle's Roger (Dumplin) Smith of Chicago and James (Lisa) Smith of Marion,Ky. As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, family and family.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, his father Thomas Smith, a brother Christopher Smith, 2 nephews Gage Melton and Kaleb Duncan. An uncle Timmy Smith and 3 aunts Brenda, Debbie and Karen.

Cremation was done by Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah, Ky. His service and celebration of life will be at Grace Baptist on Monday Oct 9, 2023 from 2-4 pm in Clay, Ky. Dinner to followed the community center. Ronnie Gibson officiating. Burial will be in Wheatcroft, Ky at Rock Springs Church with his father.
