James O. Riley, 82, of West Paducah passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025, surrounded by his family.

James was a Duke of Paducah, an avid bowler, a life member of Paducah Bowling Association, and member of Bethel Baptist Church. He retired from the Paducah Housing Authority.

Surviving is his wife, Barbara Riley; children, Peggy (Harold) Marr, Billy (Debbie) Riley, and Penny (Vernon) Wilkey; grandchildren, Mahala (Mason) Crider, Samantha (Nathan) Collins, Michelle (Brett) Chambers; great-grandchildren, Haven and Jaxon Crider, and Bella Chambers; siblings, Bettie (Harry) Matheny, Eugene “Red” Riley, Randy (Angie) Riley, Charles (Donna) Glisson, Roy (Polly) Glisson, and Patricia (Joe) Greenup.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vera Lee Glisson and Lois Riley; siblings, Jimmie Riley, Terry Riley, Tommie Riley, Russell Riley, Mary Ann Riley, Dennie Pannell, Ruby McGee, Sue Wallace, and Wayne Glisson; and his son-in-law, Vernon Wilkey.

Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev.  Bill Ogden officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.  

Friends may visit the family from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.

Casual clothes and blue jeans are encouraged by the family.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to: Mercy Health Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
