Imogene Paschall Carlin

Imogene Paschall Carlin, age,94, of Paducah Kentucky, passed away on Monday August 3, 2026, at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center. She was surrounded by her loving family and peacefully left her earthly home to go to her heavenly home. Imogene (Jean) was born May 10, 1932, in Crossland Tennessee. Most of her life she was a homemaker but later cared for children which included managing a daycare. As a result of managing the daycare she witnessed children growing up to become adults and continuing to call her Mrs. Jean. Anyone who knew her had no doubt she was a faithful servant and loved her Saviour Jesus Christ. She served as organist at the age of 14 at Hazel Baptist Church. Later she served as organist at Bellview Baptist Church and pianist at Calvary Baptist. Her faith was strong and steadfast. Jean made those who came to visit always welcome. One way of expressing this was cooking for them. People particularly loved her cakes and pies. Imogene is survived by two daughters, Valeria Douglas and Vicky Oakley (Jeff), one son Charlie Carlin, three grandchildren, Erin Finney (Matt) Brentwood Tennessee, Emily Whitaker (Micah) Cookeville, Tennessee and Chris Douglas (Amanda) Louisville, Kentucky and four great grandchildren, Annie Beth and Jack Charles Whitaker, Claire and Evie Finney. She was preceded in death by her first husband Otho Cook, Jr.and her second husband Dr.Charles B Carlin. Her parents Manual {Budie} and Connie Paschall. Also, by two half-sisters and three half-brothers. A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM Saturday August 8th at Lindsey Funeral Home 226 N. 4th St. Paducah, KY. with Micah Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn. Visitation will be held from 11:00 until service hour of 1:00. The family would like to express gratitude to staff at the Hospice Center especially Dr. James Long.
