George “Pop” Hatton, 92, of Paducah passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center with his family by his side.

George was a retired carpenter and member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in West Paducah. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served his country well as a Howitzer Gun Chief in the Korean War Era. He loved the Lord and the St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Orene Hatton of Paducah; two children, Michael (Tammy) Hatton of West Paducah and Marla Dunn of Paducah; one brother, Marvin (Ann) Hatton; five grandchildren, Mike (Misty) Hatton, Joshua (Lauren) Dunn, Hunter Dunn, Lindsey (Zach) Price, Hannah Hatton; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Irene Hatton; and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Medley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may visit the family from 11:00am to service hour on Monday at the church.
