Gene “Mickey” Hall went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 10, 2025. He was born on May 22, 1947, and raised in Marshall County, Kentucky, graduating from Marshall County High School in 1965.
After graduation, Mickey proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Campaign. His decorations included the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal (1st Award).
On September 10, 1986, Mickey married the love of his life, Judi, and joyfully embraced the role of husband, stepfather, and grandfather. He deeply cherished his wife, daughter, and grandson.
Mickey spent the majority of his career as a unit operator at the Shawnee Steam Plant in Kevil, Kentucky, retiring in 2001. After retirement, he and Judi moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida, where he took up bicycle riding and swimming. During this time, they joined Merritt Island First Baptist Church. Mickey faithfully served there through the House of Hope ministry and also began a unique bicycle ministry, where he repaired and provided free bicycles to those in need.
In 2015, Mickey and Judi returned to Paducah, Kentucky, where they became devoted members of Heartland Baptist Church. Mickey’s unwavering faith was central to his life. He loved reading and studying God’s Word daily and strived to live out his faith in service, humility, and love.
Mickey was preceded in death by his grandparents Ezra and Eliza Downs, Ivy and Bose Hall; his parents Eula Jean Faughn, Wilton Hall, and Randy Hall; as well as several nephews.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judith “Judi” Hall; his daughter, Chandra Dickerson and her husband Todd Jones; his grandson, Brandon Garrett Moberly; his siblings, David Hall, Ann Hall, and Virginia Atchley; nieces Patricia Atchley Pinkerton and Lynn Atchley; and nephew Russ Hall.
Mickey’s life reflected his devotion to Christ, his love for family, and his heart for serving others. His legacy of faith, kindness, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7
