Dr. Luke D. Ross

Dr. Luke D. Ross, age 84, of Paducah, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

Dr. Ross was born in Marshall County to Luke and Luenell Ross in 1939. He had always planned on wanting to travel and see what the world had to offer. This led him to join the United Staes Navy with his good friend. Dr. Ross was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

Once he left the Navy, his next endeavor led him to the University of Kentucky where he studied medicine. He graduated with his doctorate and continued his service of veterans as a doctor at the VA. His son later followed in his father’s footsteps and graduated from the UK School of Medicine, making them the first father son duo to graduate from the program.

Dr. Ross retired from the VA and spent his years as a loving and respected husband, father, grandfather, brother, and mentor.

A private celebration of his wonderful life is planned for a later date.
