Bobby Frank Burns, 71, of Paducah, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at his home, doing exactly what he loved—relaxing in his recliner, watching college football. Born on April 2, 1954, in Paducah, KY, Bobby was the son of the late Frankie and Marjorie (Bishop) Burns. Bobby was of the Baptist faith and carried his belief in God quietly but sincerely throughout his life. He was a 1972 graduate of Heath High School. A simple man with a wild streak, Bobby married the love of his life, Karen (Herron) Burns, after a cross-country adventure that ended in elopement in Bakersfield, California, on February 4, 1981. They celebrated 44 wonderful years of marriage. Bobby survives by his devoted wife, Karen, and their two children, Brandi Burns and Brian Burns. He was a proud grandfather to Jaxon Cofield, Justus Cofield, Kipley Anderson, Zander Burns, and Zaida Burns, and great-grandfather to Rowan Perdew. Also deserving an honorable mention is Bobby’s beloved cat, who never left his side. Bobby was a proud member of the Local 110 Sheet Metal Workers Union, retiring after more than 38 years working in HVAC. Known not only for his skill and dedication but also for his friendship and strong work ethic, Bobby left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with. After retirement, Bobby found joy in life’s simple pleasures, mowing his yard on his beloved red snapper and in his signature gray t-shirt, spending time outdoors, and listening to classic rock in his garage. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he spent countless evenings playing pool. Over the years, he participated in numerous pool and bowling leagues, building lasting friendships and earning more than a few bragging rights. Bobby loved being outside—whether hunting, fishing, or just enjoying the fresh air. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was the kind of man who showed up when it mattered most. His love for his family and friends was constant, steady, and deeply felt by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frankie and Marjorie Burns, and his brother, Timothy “YeaYea” Burns. Visitation will be held on Saturday October 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah, KY. In honor of Bobby, the family encourages friends to wear their favorite gray t-shirt, crank up some classic rock, and take a moment to enjoy the simple things—just like he always did.
