Billy Joe Powell

Billy Joe Powell, 80, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 7:36 a.m. February 16, 2026, at Baptist Hospital. He was born on August 10, 1945, in Paducah, Kentucky to the late Lawrence and Mary (Hawes) Powell. Billy was a retired machine operator of 35 years at General Tire in Mayfield, Kentucky. He is survived by his children Teri Shade (Mark Henson) of Benton, Kentucky, Aimee Young (Kenny) of Calvert City, Kentucky, Mark Powell (Angle) of Morganfield, Kentucky and Michael Powell (Rebecca) of Reidsville, North Carolina; six grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Orr and Alice Brown both of Paducah, Kentucky; two brothers, Larry Powell and Wayne Powell of Paducah, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews. Billy was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorthy Cathey and Martha “Tootie” Turner: three brothers, James Powell, Jack Powell and Terry Powell, his parents, one grandchild, nieces, and a nephew. Visitation will be held on Friday February 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah, Ky. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2026, at Lindsey Funeral Home with his son Michael Powell officiating the service.
