Angela Paige Barber, "La" to her sisters and "WaLa" or "Granny" to the youngin's, went home peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday September 30th, 2026. Through her journey of 55 years, she touched many lives, be it with humor during hardships or a personal touch with the day to day.
Born in Williamston, North Carolina on October 11th, 1970 to John and Cheryl Dickerman, Angela truly embodied "bloom where you're planted" from the start. She lived in a number of places, from Florida to Georgia, Arkansas and Kentucky, but Jamesville NC was always where she called home. And to match her collected travels, she had just as many, if not more, hobbies. Painting, crocheting, reading, and decorating for every holiday big and small were just a few of the many artistic endeavors she pursued, although people were always her true passion, as reflected by her Associates in Human Services from Pitt Community College.
Angela is survived by her daughters, Sydney and husband Cody, Maddie and husband Tyler, with granddaughter Ivory. Her sisters, Shawn and husband Dan, and Mary Anne and husband Ken, with an abundance of nieces and nephews. In addition, she is also survived by Miss Bella, her cat, who has been orphaned unto a family friend. For that, we are sorry.
Although Angela's story was not as long as we hoped, it was a story of perseverance, humor, and love that will be carried onward by all of those who had the privilege of knowing her. So for Angela we say: rest well, go Tarheels, and KOJA.
A celebration of life is planned for April 10th 2027, where Angela will be laid to rest with her family at Jamesville Community Cemetery in North Carolina. Details will be announced at a later date.
