Jeana Michelle (Wallace) Darnell, a beloved member of the Paducah community, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Mercy Health Hospital in Paducah at the age of 56. Born on January 2, 1969, in Paducah, Jeana illuminated the lives of those around her with her passion for music, unwavering support, and compassionate spirit.

An ordained minister at the New Greater Love Baptist Church, Jeana dedicated her life to serving others, exemplified through her work with the couples “Knots” ministry and her commitment to the community. She often housed foreign exchange students, believing in the power of connection and cultural exchange. As a member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, she not only held state offices but also became a guiding light for many young women, inspiring them with her kindness and leadership.

Jeana's talents extended beyond her spiritual commitments; she loved to sing and play the piano, often sharing her musical gifts with family and friends. Her flair for decorating brought warmth and joy to her home, a place where everyone felt welcomed and cherished. Known for being easy to talk to and deeply supportive of her daughters' lives and interests, Jeana was a steadfast presence in her family's journey.

In addition to her many contributions, Jeana was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys, engaging in a playful rivalry with her husband, Russell, a devoted Packers fan. This playful banter served as a testament to the shared love and joy within their relationship.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael "Russell" Darnell; her mother, Paula Downs of Paducah; her father, Gene Wallace of Sharpe; her three beloved daughters, Allyson Tracy (Zachary Sales) of Louisville, KY, Abigail Tracy (Matthew Trollen) of Paducah, and Hannah Clark (Lindsey Holmes) of Paducah; an honorary son, Edwin Schiff; her sisters, Calena "Tootie" Peeler (Chris) of Paducah, and Cassandra Vaughn (Brandon) of Paducah; her "sister-in-heart", Jamesha Hughes (Michael) of Mayfield; two cherished grandchildren, Amelia Dick and William Sales; and her godmother, Darlene Wheatley Justice of Sikeston, MO.

Jeana was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Downs; and her maternal grandmother, Wilma Pauline Medlin, who will be remembered alongside her in the hearts of those who loved them.

Visitation for Jeana will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service starting at 12:00 PM with Pastor LaRita Addison officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in LaCenter, KY.

Jeana’s legacy of love, generosity, and faith will endure through the lives she touched and the memories held dear by her family and friends. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
