William Bryant Hornbuckle

Mr. William Bryant Hornbuckle, 74, of Murray, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Born on March 1, 1951, in Murray, William was the son of the late William H. and Mary Kennel Hornbuckle. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Army.

William was a man of deep passions and simple joys. He was a dedicated bingo player, never missing a Tuesday night at the Knights of Columbus. His love for music was ever-present, especially the timeless sounds of Earth, Wind & Fire, which brought him joy throughout his life.  Known for his kind heart and spirited nature, William was deeply loved by family and friends alike. His presence brought laughter, warmth, and strength to those around him. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Hornbuckle.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, William Hornbuckle III (Lenore) of Indianapolis, IN, Juan Hornbuckle of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Errieon Tharpe of Paris, TN; a sister, Betty Harlin of Murray; two uncles, Jim Hornbuckle and Tom Hornbuckle, both of Murray; two nephews, Lee Harlin and Tory Harlin; two grandchildren, William "Bill Bill" Hornbuckle IV and Bella Hornbuckle; as well as, his ex wife and friend, Deborah Hornbuckle of Evansville, IN.

A private family graveside service with military honors will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.
