Samuel Glynn Wall, age 68, of Murray, formerly of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 21, after a long struggle with health challenges. Sam will be greatly missed.

Born on February 27, 1957, in Fulton, Kentucky, Sam attended Fulton High School, playing linebacker on the high school team, and attended Murray State University. Sam worked for several engineering firms in Tyler and Houston, Texas, as a project manager and draftsman.

He was known for his laid-back nature and easygoing spirit, his dry wit and humor. He found joy in the simple things and had a special bond with his beloved dog, Sweet Pea, often affectionately declaring, “You are a big dog.” He was an avid sports fan, with a deep and lifelong passion for all sports, especially Kentucky basketball.

Sam had a close relationship with his identical twin brother, Dan. Many advantages are bestowed on twins, replacing the other in classes for tests, dating the other’s girl, just basically fooling almost everyone. Their relationship was deep and abiding and a special pleasure for all to witness.

He is survived by his son, Ryan Wall (Jordan Elaine Wall) and his granddaughter, Leila Marie Wall, of Alaska, his former spouse, Shanna Toney, his twin brother Dan Wall, his brother, Ron Wall (Belle) and his sister, Donna Wall VanHook (Dan), aunts, uncles, nephews, niece, cousins and Sweet Pea, a yappy little dog. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Wall and Sara Hazlewood Wall of Fulton, Ky., and his nephew, Chris Wall.

Please join us in celebrating his life on Wednesday, May 28, at Imes Funeral Home on 311 North 4th St., Murray, Ky, with visitation at 11 a.m. and funeral services at 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Obion County Memorial Gardens, 3939 Ken Tenn Highway, Union City, TN. 38261.
