Mr. Robbie Wilburn, 60, of Murray, passed away after a long, hard battle with cancer on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House.

Robbie was born to Owvel Wilburn, Jr. and Carol Martin on April 25, 1964 in Madison, TN. He was a 1982 graduate of Murray High School and he went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy. Robbie earned a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Murray State University and worked for over 30 years for Dr. Trevathan and Murray Calloway County Hospital.

One simply did not meet Mr. Wilburn and not remember him from that point on. He was a man of high standards and his character shined so bright. Robbie had a way of touching people, yet he stood firm in those big shoes of his and didn’t waiver a step when he felt convicted about something. A person always knew where you stood with Robbie. He collected and maintained friendships his entire life. If you met him, you wanted to know him and you were blessed if he called you friend. He had many passions from food, to travel, sports, music, adventures, holidays, parties and at his heart, family. His favorite of all was his beautiful and caring wife of 40 years, Carlie. Robbie was a loving son, adoring husband, a devoted daddy, fun loving Papaw, caregiver and friend to many and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Left to cherish many wonderful memories include his loving wife, Carlie Wilburn of Almo; two daughters, Jessica Keatts (Davy) of Big Rock, TN, Brandi Eskra (Paul) of Murray; his father and step mother, O.E. “Doonie” Wilburn, Jr. (Jo) of Louisville, KY; his mother and step father, Carol Elmore (George) of Murray; three step brothers, Greg Elmore (Lori) of Huntsville, AL, Tim Elmore (Trisha) of Huntsville, AL, Ross Edwards of Louisville, KY; a step sister, Beth Bryant (Phil) of Hazel Green, AL and six adored grandchildren, Devin Eskra, Romie Young, Knox Young, Ace Keatts, Cooper Keatts and Finley Keatts.

His family will hold a private celebration of life in the months to come.
