James H. Baker

Mr. James "Jimmy" H. Baker, 60, of Murray, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 at Murray Calloway County Hospital.

Jimmy was born to James and Reta Davenport on October 8, 1964 in Paducah, KY.  He graduated early from Marshall County High School and went on to proudly serve eight years in the United States Marines.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Davenport and a son, Steven Baker.

Those left to cherish many wonderful memories include his loving wife of 16 years, Debra Baker of Murray; his mother, Reta Baker (Randall) of Calvert City; two sons, Randy Baker of Paducah, Daniel Modglin of Murray; a daughter, Ashton Casper (Brett) of Murray; four brothers, John Davenport of Paducah, Jeremiah Baker (Beverly) of South Carolina, Eric Davenport of Paducah, Brian Davenport of Paducah; three grandchildren, George Alexander Trent, Charlotte Casper and Raelynn Modglin, as well as, a special friend and mother of his children, Kimberly Wilson of West Virginia.

A memorial service is set for 12 pm on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Imes Funeral Home, 311 North 4th Street, Murray.  Rev. John C. Carey, Major, USA (RET), Staff Chaplain from Murray Calloway County Hospital will officiate and military honors will follow.

His family welcomes visitors from 11 am - 12 pm at the funeral home.
